Relief From Painful & Problematic Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are the last set of permanent teeth to develop, usually appearing at the back of the mouth. While some wisdom teeth erupt normally, others may become impacted, partially erupted or positioned incorrectly, leading to pain, swelling and other dental problems.

At Creating Smiles, Dr. Neilmoulo Seth, Consultant Dental Surgeon & Implantologist, and the dental team provide careful evaluation and treatment for problematic wisdom teeth with a focus on patient comfort and safety.

When May a Wisdom Tooth Need Removal?

Wisdom tooth extraction may be recommended if you experience:

  • Pain or discomfort at the back of the mouth

  • Swelling or tenderness around the gums

  • Partially erupted wisdom teeth

  • Impacted wisdom teeth

  • Repeated infection around the tooth

  • Food getting trapped around the wisdom tooth

  • Decay affecting the wisdom tooth

  • Damage or pressure affecting nearby teeth

Not every wisdom tooth requires removal. A dental examination and appropriate digital X-ray can help determine its position and whether extraction is necessary.

What Happens During Wisdom Tooth Extraction?

Your treatment begins with a detailed assessment by Dr. Neilmoulo Seth and the team. The position, condition and surrounding structures of the wisdom tooth are evaluated before planning treatment.

Appropriate local anaesthesia is used to numb the treatment area. Depending on the tooth’s position, a simple or surgical extraction may be recommended. The tooth is then carefully removed using an approach suited to the individual case.

After the procedure, you will receive guidance regarding oral hygiene, diet, activity and care of the extraction site to support recovery.
